Location: Surrey, UK.
Camera: Canon EOS 40D DSLR
Lens: Rodenstock Apo-Rodagon 1:2.8/50mm enlarging lens reverse mounted on 40mm of extension tube
Settings: F/5.6 on lens (effective probably around F/11 - F/16, 1/260s, ISO 100, Camera flash with home made diffuser, hand held. Total lens extension to front face of lens 50mm giving 1.5:1 or 1.5X life size on sensor.
Honey bees fortunately for me, seem quite tolerant and not bothered by the very short working distance and seem not to notice the flash lighting.
