Cardinal beetle (Pyrochroa coccinea)
A brightly-coloured red beetle. It is approximately 20 mm long and has a black face. The cardinal beetle preys on other insects and is a strong flier.
Location: Grass stem at edge of woodland - Farnham Park, Surrey, UK.
