Episyrphus balteatus prey to Misumena vatia - 100-40d-07663
Marmalade Hoverfly (Episyrphus balteatus) caught by a well camouflaged White Death Crab Spider (Misumena vatia) on Hypericum 'Hidcote' yellow flower.
I photographed what I thought was a strangely inactive Marmalade hoverfly. Though inactive, photography was difficult due to wind movement. I did not notice the spider until reviewing images on computer screen. This prompted me to return and try and find the spider later that same day.
