European Robin (Erithacus rubecula)nest with two chicks and two eggs visible. Nest hidden in hole in stone wall covered with vegetation.

Leica - Leitz Wetzlar Macro-Elmarit-R 1:2.8/60, 60mm F/2.8 lens on Canon 400D DSLR.

Shot settings: F/5.6, 1/200s, iso 200, camera flash. Focusing and lighting was a matter of guesswork as subject was almost in complete darkness, with only a very narrow gap for line of sight. Just a few quick grab shots and left scene untouched so as not to disturb residence. Unfortunately, going back a few days only later to find the nest had be raided and occupants gone.
