Wood Mouse - Pentacon 50mm

Wood mouse (Apodemus sylvaticus) or long-tailed field mouse.

Location: Waste bin kept in cupboard under kitchen sink.Our pet cat has a nasty habit of catching these critters and bringing them indoors. The cat to my knowledge has never caused them any physical harm, she just likes playing with them. When she gets bored, they are often left running around the house, usual taking shelter in the kitchen under various cupboards and kitchen appliances. I have become quite skilful in catching/trapping them and then releasing them back to the wild where they belong. This particular mouse trapped himself in the bin. Seemingly, not in distress at all the attention, I could not resist the photo opportunity.
