Roe Deer - Sigma APO DG 70-300mm
Female Roe deer (Capreolus capreolus). Family: Cervidae.
Photographed in heavily wooded area in Farnham Park, Surrey, UK. These creatures are extremely shy and elusive in this area, probably because it is a popular dog walking area. Most people are unaware of the deer presence even though there homes overlook the woods. The picture is not the sharpest, but I feel lucky (though it took a lot of effort and time) to have any image.
Camera: Canon 400D DSLR
Lens: Sigma APO DG 70-300mm F/4-5.6. Manually focussed, too much clutter in the way to rely on auto-focus.
